Seems like so many of our favorite finds are DIY projects…. and so many are jewelry projects. Hmmmm, does that mean we like to make jewelry or that we like to dream about making jewelry? Or perhaps a little of both?
As a {wannabe} world traveler, I {hope to} collect coins from all the countries I visit and make one of these fantastic DIY Charm Bracelets from What I Wore. I do have a few foreign coins but hope to add a lot more in years to come. What a fun way to remember all the awesome places I tick off my bucket list!
I’ve wished on {and FOR} a lot of things before, but never used a bracelet as a Wish Delivering System. Must try these Wish Bracelets from Happy Hour Projects and see if I have better luck with them!
Not Only Quilts has some gorgeous braids on her site and one of my favorites is the Katarina Braid Bracelet. Not sure I can manage the closure, but the braid is beautiful and her tutorial seems really easy to follow.
Tell me, what fabulous things did you find this week?
Brassy Apple has a great tutorial on how to make this cute DIY Chandelier that caught Ariel’s eye. It’s colorful and blingy. What else could a girl want?
We’ve been looking at infinity scarves for a while now. Love this DIY version by Anna Evers at Plan B!
Who knew hummingbirds loved to be misted? Not us. Well, maybe Grammy does, but she hadn’t told us. If we get inspired, we might make one of these DIY Hummingbird Mister Birdbaths from Birds & Bloom. (and if she’s reading this, she might make it before we get a chance to!)
I’m always on the look-out for easy meals. And not just easy for me to make…easy for my family to love! This Skillet Pizza Monkey Bread from Pillsbury sounds like it would be fun to make and eat!
I don’t think there could be a more fun holiday for tweens to celebrate than National Chocolate Fondue Day! It’s perfect for a family dinner dessert and it’s perfect for a yummy dining experience at a sleepover. Strawberries, meet chocolate.(Carrots, stay home!)
I’m loving these food holidays!! Last week it was National Pie Day… today is National Corn Chip Day! And if we do it right, we can cover most of the nutritional (or desired contents!) bases with some of these recipes….
Have I ever told you about the spots of nail polish on Ariel’s comforter? No? What about the spots of nail polish on my office rug? No? Hmmmm…. perhaps I didn’t say anything because I assumed you had the same spots. I’m thinking this Grip & Tip Holder looks like it might provide a little insurance against spills…. (this is an Amazon link because I followed a link on Pinterest that led me nowhere but I was determined to showcase this cutie!)
We are in the middle of the same organizational craze that the rest of the {blogging} world is… and are determined to get rid of everything in our house–or cute-i-fy it. I think this Messy Desk Solution from The Stonybrook House is an awesome way to decorate some of our favorite keepers.
Probably the coolest 5K I’ve ever heard of, Color Me Rad looks like a blast!! Ariel and I are talking about doing it!! Have you ever heard of such a fun run?
Here’s a video from the Color Me Rad YouTube channel:
Ummmm, what? I’ve never heard of Pepper Pot before. This must be investigated.
{10 minutes later}
Well, I’ll be darned. Seems that Pepper Pot is the real deal. A recipe born of necessity and creativity and spunk, much like our country, the country that was being made when, according to legend, this soup was first stirred up.
Pepper Pot, a hot spicy soup made from whatever the Continental Army’s baker could find, warmed the hearts and tummies of those brave soldiers at Valley Forge that cold winter and became known as “the soup that won the war.”
I apologize for not knowing what it was… and am vowing now to make a batch, although I will not be using the traditional tripe.
Among Ariel’s many Christmas presents was a package of washi tape that I bought a while back. I didn’t think to take a picture of the packaging yesterday before I tossed it in the recycling, but this is close:
She has already decorated pencils and note cards… and she just decorated her DSi case.
Love that she’s having fun and being creative…. and it’s not electronic! (I’m a bit afraid to take a nap in case she decides to decorate the dog… or me!)
Wow! I must admit, I never thought I’d use the words “toilet paper roll” and “holiday decor” together in a blog post title. Bet you never thought you’d see them together either, huh?
As it happens, a whole lot of us think that upcycling is a great idea…. and that toilet paper rolls (or any other paper rolls) are the perfect medium to use for art projects.
When I was looking for the best ever Advent Calendar ideas, I found a few here and here that utilize toilet paper rolls…. but I also found a lot of other decor ideas and decided to gather them all together. Hopefully, you will gain some great ideas from these ingenious crafters!
