I hate glitter. Truly, A friend once called it “the herpes of the crafting world” and I totally buy into that theory. I. Loathe. Glitter.
So imagine my surprise that when I found this next project on We Are Not Martha, I didn’t run screaming into the night.

On the contrary, I actually saved it because I *know* that Ariel would love it. And if the glitter actually stayed on the shoes, I could live with it.
I’m thinking this would be a fun project for the upcoming holiday season. And I’m sure that we have an old pair of shoes that we could glitter-fy. Just to try it out, ya know.
Sooooo…. surprise!
I’m actually considering making *gasp* something with glitter. Check out Make Your Own Glitter Flats and tell me what you think.
Would you make them???

Did you make em?? How’d they turn out? I like glitter, but I don’t like the mess it makes, so I never use glitter. If it stays, I’m all for it!
I read this earlier and didn’t comment, but I just re-read it and it made me grin yet again. “Herpes of the crafting world?” Dang — you DO feel strongly about it!
And for me, I loved glitter as a kid and I still like it for school projects. I mean, I’ve been known to say “You can’t have too much glitter…” but before you gasp in disbelief or outrage, I mean “…on that Christmas ornament you’re making, little 2nd Grader.”
I made the mistake of buying glitter jeans once. I don’t think I’ve touched glitter since then because I hate the mess!
